Causse Country - 52 KM

Although the “causse” is an arid world, it’s full of charm. As the ancients said: a land where stones grow...

A landscape of limestone karst formations and dry grasslands, of canyons slicing through rocky hills, of magnificent caves. The famous Gouffre de Padirac is a prime example, the dry stone walls and the “gariottes” or “cazelles” (dry stone shelters) are emblematic. The Causses du Lot have the status of a regional nature park: Parc naturel régional des causses du Quercy.

Go for a long walk in the Alzou canyon until you reach the Moulin du Saut, climb the steep hills at the fortified mill of Cougnaguet, discover the vertical splendour of Rocamadour, the characteristic villages of Thégra and LoubressacGramat is the capital of this region, and in the spa town of Alvignac-Miers, - the mineral waters of the Source Salmière – you can entertain yourself in the casino.
