Festival Cont'émoi - Bretenoux

Early April

At the Cont'émoi Festival, different styles of stories and storytellers take centre stage. From ancient tales to contemporary narratives, stories are the fabric of a cultural heritage with common values, shared emotions and experiences.

When hundreds of sheep are traversing the limestone plateaus of the Lot, accompanied by ten farmer-herders, it’s a sure sign of Spring. An excellent occasion to join the flock for a five day walk down idyllic country lanes and paths. (dates to be confirmed).

Fête des fromages - Rocamadour

The annual Rocamadour Cheese Festival is of course not to be missed in this region so proud of its little round AOC “cabécous”. It takes place on Pentecost Sunday at a stone’s throw of the famous pilgrims’ town, with plenty of opportunity to taste the famous “Rocamadours” as well as many other delicious (goat’s) cheeses from far and wide.

Souillac en Jazz

From 21 to 27 July 2014

For six days, Souillac will once again swing to the rhythm of all that jazz, during the 39th edition of the “Sim Copans” Festival. Join in the fun and embrace the music in front of the famous domed abbey church, on the little squares and in the streets, bars and café’s of the old town or experience the magic of an underground concert in the caves of Lacave.

Ecaussystème - Gignac

1 & 2 August 2014

This annual festival is all about eco-citizenship and solidarity with a good dose of first class music. The programming is always eclectic and inventive, the ambiance festive with loads of activities for all ages, aiming to create awareness for fair trade and sustainable development.

Festival de Saint-Céré

This well known festival explores opera, music and chant in surprising ways. During three weeks, a series of performances and concerts take place in various settings: the Théâtre de l’usine in St Céré, the Abbey church in Souillac, Château de Montal, Cahors Cathedral and Château de Castelnau Bretenoux.

Gramat Country Festival

3 day country & rock festival where French charm meets the Wild West: concerts and musical games, country and line dancing, shops, Western stands, cars, motorbikes, trikes, trucks, horse shows, wood cutting fun and children’s activities in the open air. Yee-haw!

Les Montgolfiades - Rocamadour

End of September

Annual hot air balloon festival with participants from all over Europe. Watching the balloons rise up from the foot of the sacred city is sheer magic, and there’s a good brocante too!

Fête de la noix - Thégra

A great event for walnut lovers: try them fresh, dried and even coated in chocolate. Walnut oil, activities and tastings.

Winter Season at the Théâtre de l'Usine - Saint-Céré

When the days shorten and the evenings get longer, it’s the ideal season for enjoying a night out at the theatre. And this is a very special creative place, where the resident artists share daily life in the town.
