Depart from the top of the “place du champ de Mars” at Beaulieu. Go left passing the road leading to Sioniac on the right and then 30m further on turn right into the road Marcelle Tinayre. A little further on take a path going uphill on the left. Opposite a square building, continue going uphill to the right, as far as the cemetery.

Go alongside the cemetery to the left, then continue straight ahead. Views of the Dordogne valley and the village of Altillac.

At the junction, turn left then go uphill on the right. View of Beaulieu. The path goes along the edge of the fields and the fences. At the footbridge crossing the Tartarel stream go straight ahead.

At the D12 turn left, go straight ahead (with care). Jut before the bridge over the Tartarel, take a footpath on the right. At a junction, go downhill on the left, then at a second junction, go down- hill on the right as far as the D41

Turn left. After going 50m along the road, turn right to reach the right bank of the Dordogne.. Go past the Port -Bas chapel and continue straight ahead.

Turn right opposite a house with loggias, in the direction of the town stadium (stade municipal) Go through the tunnel. Leave the square on the left, and take the road St Roch opposite, as far as the fortified St Catherine gateway.

Go along the rue St Catherine and turn right just before the “place du Marché, go alongside the south arm of the abbatiale St Pierre. Leave the church to the left and take a little street opposite. At a crossing, turn left, then left again go straight on in the direction of the Les Aubarèdes footbridge.

At the edge of the river turn left. When you reach the Chapelle des Penitents bear right continuing alongside the river. When you reach house No 69, take an alleyway on the left to reach the D 940.

Cross the road and take the path opposite. Then take the second pathway on the right. When you reach the tarmac road go straight on to get back to the starting point.
10 Abbatiale Saint-Pierre
Eglise du XIIème avec un magnifique tympan, dans le transept nord se trouve un musée lapidaire avec tablette tactile et dans le transept sud le trésor de Beaulieu
11 Chapelle des Pénitents
Ouverte de mi-juin à mi-septembre, elle accueille de nombreuses expositions
12 Gabare Adèle et Clarisse
Laissez-vous tenter par cette balade d'une heure un quart où le Gabarier vous contera toute l'histoire de la batellerie sur notre Dordogne. Circule de mai à octobre, renseignements et réservations à l'Office de Tourisme Vallée de la Dordogne.
