Every summer since 1976, Jazz music comes to life in the streets of Souillac for a week of Jazz in the Dordogne Valley.
For its 44th edition, the sound of jazz will spread not only to the streets and the abbey square but also to a magical cave and on a hiking trail. Some amazing treats for all jazz lovers !

Three Days Of Forest is a trio emerging from the new wave of French Jazz with music inspired by two Afro-American poets, Gwendolyn Brooks et Rita Dove, in an electrifying ode to freedom.
Mosaïque Jazz - Andreas Schaerer Quartet

Andreas Schaerer is a multi-awarded Swiss vocalist with a repertoire ranging from classical to beat-box, from rock to raggae and impro jazz...For his new album A Novel Of Anomaly, he is accompanied by Finnish guitarist Kalle Kalima, Italian accordeonist Luciano Biondini and American drummer Jarrod Cagwin. A mix of many different languages for a surprising mosaic of sounds.
Henri Texier : Master of French Jazz
Friday 19th July at 9.15pm, Place Pierre Betz in Souillac.
Henri Texier is one of the most recognised double bass player in Europe, a french legend who played with the greatest american jazz artists (Chet Baker, Bud Powell, Donald Byrd, Johnny Griffin amongst others). A pioneer in free jazz, he will be playing in Souillac in an exceptional quintet including two saxophonists, his son Sébastien Texier and François Corneloup, guitarist Manu Codjia and the young drummer Gautier Garrigue.
Avishai Cohen, world-class double bass player
Saturday 20th July at 9.15pm, Place Pierre Betz in Souillac.
After making an unforgettable appearance in Souillac in 2011, the double bass player and singer-song writer from Israël Avishai Cohen comes back in a trio performing a melodic jazz mixing classical music, world beats and rythms from Israel and Latin America. Discovered by the pianist Chick Corea in the early 90s, Avishai Cohen collaborated with Herbie Hancock, Brad Mehldau, Bobby McFerrin, Nnenna Freelon and even… Alicia Keys.
