Description

Jean Gasparoux was born on April 2, 1863, the son of Léonard Gasparoux and Marie Broussouloux, property owners in 1893, Anne Chèze, daughter of Jacques Chèze, a wine merchant from Laval in the same town. He began his career in the wine trade with his father-in-law, with whom he went into business. He then worked with Antoine Pécresse du Gourgeat before striking out on his own. A farmer and traveler, he made only two trips a year to the Nord and Pas-de-Calais departments. He traveled there by train and then visited his clients by tram and on foot. The house he had built in Chavetourte was completed in 1911. Discover the other wine merchants’ houses in Davignac with the “Houses in the City” discovery tour.
