Pierre Emile Borie was born in Nantes on July 26, 1865 Nantes, the son of François Borie and Catherine Coudert, second-hand dealers. He married Maria De?mathieu in 1892 in? Meymac. He followed in the footsteps of his older brother, Pierre Euge?ne Pierre Euge?ne. Together, they became canvas merchants and then dealers. They then joined forces to buy a winery in Pauillac and the cha?teau Pauillac and the cha?teau Caronne Saint Je?me in Me?doc in 1901. Their customers were located in Normandy and Flanders. In the Prairie district, Pierre Emile built a house next to and overhanging his brother?s, hence his nickname Borie d?en haut and his brother?s, Borie d?en bas. Loiselot, an architect from Ussel, designed the plans in September 1901.
