Description

Antoine Bordas, born on July 21, 1881, in Chavetourte, married on June 11, 1910, in Davignac, Antoinette Brunot (1891–1972), the daughter of a family from Laval that had been in the wine trade for two generations. Antoine was a wine merchant while also continuing to farm his land in Chavetourte. He traveled throughout Brittany and the North and sourced his supplies from Eschnauer, where he was registered at 42 rue Emile Counord. His wife handled his secretarial work and bookkeeping. He died prematurely in 1929, and his clientele was taken over by Raymond Malplanche, before later returning to his son, Jean, a farmer. His two sons, Jean and Henri-Léo, were wine merchants, and his daughter, Gilberte, married a wine merchant. Discover Davignac’s other wine merchants’ houses on the “Houses in the Town” discovery tour.
