Description

François de Sarrazin was born on March 1, 1835, the son of Marc Antoine de Sarrazin and Jeanne Vincent. He married Marie Esther in? Meymac on November 21, 1861 to Marie Esther. Through this marriage, he became related to Jean Gaye-Bordas, becoming her nephew. Indeed, his wife's mother, Jeanne Bordas, was Gaye-Bordas's half-sister. It was undoubtedly through this connection that he became a wine merchant and, along with Antoine Pe?cresse, was one of the very first in the region to trade wines. François de Sarrazin did not build a house, as his family had lived on the Grandrieu cha?teau for several generations. The cha?teau was later acquired by another negociant, Antoine Madesclaire, who had already built a house in the La Co?te district.
