Jean-Marie BASSET is a Master Glassmaker based in Laguenne sur Avalouze. A specialist in traditional leaded stained glass, he restores stained glass windows for Bâtiments de France and Monuments Historiques, in châteaux, religious buildings and private homes. He also creates contemporary stained-glass windows in antique or abstract styles. Trained by master glassmakers, he has learned the painstaking craft of this rare art, essential to the preservation of our heritage. No quick and easy modern methods. Everything is done by hand in the pure tradition of the Art of Stained Glass. Co-president of the "Autour du vitrail" association, Jean-Marie in turn passes on his knowledge and techniques of stained glass by organizing workshops.
