A circular village, Issigeac is a medieval town developed in the 13th century at the same time as the neighbouring bastides. Important Gallo-Roman baths dating from the 4th century were found in 1994. It is from the 11th century that the village will appear with the church of Saint-Martin. Unfortunately, these remains are no longer visible, however, many stone and timber-framed houses dating from the 13th to the 17th century are still present and deserve a stop, such as the Provost's Palace, the Bishops' Palace, the tithe house, the head house, the mushroom house, etc... Take advantage of its famous Sunday market to stroll through its streets and discover its many craftsmen.
