Description
Welcome to Prigonrieux, a commune on the right bank of the Dordogne, downstream from Bergerac. The fertile soil of the wide Dordogne valley makes it a rapidly expanding commune. It is in a 12th century cartulary of Sainte Marie de Sainte that the name of our commune appears for the first time in the form of Prionru. Later, in 1382, we find Profundo rivo ("deep stream").
