Description
Come to discover the loop of excursion of Lamothe Montravel; in the borough, admire the church Saint Paixent as well as the town hall sheltered in a medieval tower, only vestige of the fortress of former days.
Near the loop, in the plain of Lamothe Montravel, in Colly, between the Dordogne and the Lidoire, the battle of Castillon took place on 17 July 1453. General John Talbot, who commanded the English army, was defeated and killed. A monument commemorates the event.
