Description
The commune offers a wine-growing landscape on the plateau, meadows and arable land in the valleys of Calendreaud and Fonguillane, and is bordered by the Lidoire and Estrop rivers.
A rich heritage is dotted around the village: wash house, fountains, wells, oven, and pigeon houses, the church of St Jean de Bonneville, an old tile factory at St Avit and a bridge at Calendreaud. It should be noted that in Grosse Forge were the old Forges du roi and that Pierre Loti lived in the Château du Valladoux.
