Description

A rare example of this type of building in the Limousin region, with its original barrel vaults. Built in the 13th century, this small church, still Romanesque in structure, shows the emergence of Gothic art in the Limousin, as seen here in the layout of the portal, the break in the nave vault, and the profiles of the abacuses, capitals and buttresses. The north side chapel dates from the 15th century. The main façade ends in a gabled bell tower with two arcades. Attested in 1282, the church belonged to the Knights Templar. Around 1311, it was ceded to the Order of Malta and became part of Bellechassagne. It then became part of Tulle.
