Description

In the final years of the 20th century, the commune of Meymac, with the help of Ets J. Janoueix of Libourne, planted a hundred vines of the traditional Libourne grape variety, Merlot, in half-barrels. Installed along the Coulée verte linking Meymac to Séchemailles, they are a nod to the legend that the vines were put away during the winter, and are the close link between the ?wine merchants of Meymac-près-Bordeaux? and the Libourne region. In 2013, with the help of R. Pouget, an agricultural engineer from INRA, the Friends of Meymac-près-Bordeaux association created a real vineyard on the other side of the hill, using the estellat grape variety, better adapted to the climate of Haute-Corrèze. When the climate permits, the grapes are vinified in the winery. Discover the exhibition, the Larose monks' cellar and the "houses in the town" discovery tour.
