Description
This Louis XIII-era building was once the convent of the Poor Clares, then the Benedictine nuns of Bonnesaigne, a women's prison, a middle-class residence, a minor seminary, a Congregational school, then a secular school, and is now the headquarters of the Société archéologique de la Corrèze. The mansion comprises two angled buildings joined by a tower with a spiral staircase. The left wing features three semicircular arches on the first floor, remnants of the Abbess' cloister, while the dormer windows on both roofs are topped by semi-circular pediments adorned with balls. From 1882 to 1985, it housed the Ernest Rupin Museum
