Long and difficult, this BOUCLE 1 presents consequent differences in altitude that the most experienced will appreciate! The differences in level between the plateaus and the Dropt valley often reach 120 m. and more, and result in some memorable steep climbs. You have been warned!
On the other hand, this route has many assets since it visits most of the 25 communes that make up the Portes Sud Périgord territory. It allows you to see and glimpse numerous heritage elements while traversing a great variety of landscapes: the Escourou lake, woods and forests, vineyards of the Bergerac appellation, meadows, shaded waterways, cereal plains, dry hillsides and cool valleys... Not to mention some beautiful panoramas
There is really something for everyone!
