Bastide de Lalinde

  • Historic site and monument
  • Fortified town
24150 Lalinde
It was the first English country house. Founded in 1267 by Henry III Plantagenet.
The layout of the streets of the town, the central square decorated with a cross erected in 1351 and the Romanesque brick and stone door at the western entrance remind us of the origins of the bastide of Lalinde

The present church was inaugurated in 1901, it replaced the Romanesque church. The town also owes its charm to the Dordogne river and its canal.
