Château Poulvère is a former dependency of the Château de Monbazillac. Built in the 16th century, its construction is contemporaneous with that of the Château. The Borderie family has been established at the Poulvère property since 1923 when Louis Borderie was appointed estate manager. Château Poulvère wine estate encompasses 104 hectares, with all of the vineyards carrying the AOC (appellation controled) label.
