Located immediately upstream from the Viers pond, this is the largest pond in the commune, covering 11 hectares.
This lake is mainly dedicated to carp fishing (night fishing possible) and carnivorous fish (pike and zander). A picnic table is also available.
Fishing is open on the ponds from May 1 to the first Sunday in November.
Annual fishing cards are on sale at the Bistrot de Pays "La Châtaigneraie" at "la Boulangerie", or from the wardens Michel Prost and Bernard Cesse, at a cost of 35 euros (for fishing on the Viers and Montsour ponds), (15 euros for young people aged 12 to 18) and free for children under 12.
Day fishing at the étang des Ganes, weekends and public holidays (maximum 6 catches authorized): 10 Euros per day.
