Marqueyssac is the most visited garden of the Périgord. 9 km from Sarlat, imagine 150,000 boxwoods planted in the 19th century on a promontory overlooking the Dordogne valley. Lose yourself with delight in the winding paths, in the undergrowth or lined with Mediterranean vegetation, and enjoy the views of Roque-Gageac and the fortresses of Castelnaud and Beynac.
The walk is organized in three routes up to the Belvédère de la Dordogne, 130 m above the river. Play in the labyrinth of perfectly trimmed boxwoods, take part in one of the proposed animations, such as a demonstration of wood turner, the DIY workshop or an initiation to rock climbing. And every Thursday evening in summer, vibrate in a romantic and musical atmosphere: from 7pm to midnight, 2000 candles illuminate the Gardens of Marqueyssac.
