Welcome to the Jardins de l'Imaginaire, created in 1996 by Pierre Delmon, Mayor of Terrasson-Lavilledieu, situated high above the Vézère river in Perigord Noir. This major cultural site labelled as a remarkable garden extends over more than 6 ha. Kathryn Gustafson, landscape architect, has integrated very contemporary architectural lines into the Périgord landscape, illustrating the way man communicates with Nature.
From the beginning of the journey, a golden ribbon winds through the trees, inviting you on the path of imagination... Water effects and wind movements accompany you through thirteen themed gardens. The theatre of vegetation offers you a unique view over the old town of Terrasson-Lavilledieu, the water gardens refresh you, the rose garden stirs your senses, the greenhouse, designed by architect Ian Ritchie, embodies the creative encounter between dry stone, glass and metal.
