Acknowledged as a child prodigy on the contemporary choreographic scene,
Leïla Ka's first full-length work features an all-female
stage for a hypnotic ballet.
Driven by a desire to reshuffle the deck, she transposes onto the stage the emotions
and moments of sharing she has experienced with her sisters, her friends and the women
she has met over the years. Sorority, revolt, tears, euphoria and joy run through
her powerful choreography.
Chosen from an infinite range of shapes, patterns, colors and styles,
dresses are at the heart of a creation that sometimes relies on the rhythm
of breaths, sometimes on a wide variety of music, from Vivaldi to
Lara Fabian. Somewhere between contemporary dance and theatricality, this
dramaturgy exudes a wild energy: the dancers take us along with them
in an ode to salvation!
