How do you condense Alexandre Dumas's 1,600-page novel without
missing a beat? Nicolas Bonneau and Fanny Chériaux have taken up the challenge,
revisiting this monument to the French repertoire through theater, music and
video. Edmond Dantès, a nineteen-year-old sailor, arrives in Marseille for
his engagement. Betrayed by jealous “friends”, he is denounced as a conspirator
and wrongly imprisoned in Marseille's Château d'If. Fourteen years later,
he manages to escape and sets out to settle the score... Nicolas Bonneau's incredible storytelling talent
, the music imagined and performed live by
comédienne-musicienne Fanny Chériaux and multi-instrumentalist Mathias
Castagné, and the project's video effects create a frenzied rock story, which
faithfully recreates Dumas' saga. Will you succumb with the hero
to the limitless pleasures of revenge?
